Troubleshooting: Why Won't My Pinterest Video Download?

If a download doesn't start, it's almost always one of these — check them in order:

  • The Pin is private or on a secret board. Only publicly visible Pins can be fetched. If you can open the Pin in an incognito window without logging in, it's public.
  • The link points to a board or profile, not a single Pin. Make sure the URL contains /pin/, or is a pin.it short link to one Pin.
  • The Pin is image-only. If there's no video on the Pin, use the photo download instead — there's nothing to extract as video.
  • The link was copied incompletely. Re-copy it from the share icon rather than retyping it.
  • Pinterest is temporarily slow or rate-limiting. Wait a few seconds and try again.
